Pancaking is a kind of ‘vacuum’ where the inside of the pouch sticks to the stoma. This may lead to the output not dropping down into the pouch and building up on top of the stoma. A lubricating effect can help output to travel to the bottom of the pouch.
IMPORTANT! If you have any concerns – such as skin problems or how to use new products – you should always consult your stoma care nurse.
Using the filter cover provided with your products can help minimise pancaking. Please view the video above for more information.
